You seem to have the mastering sound part down, but I think there's a lot of holding back on this track. I know it's only an intro, but maybe you can throw in some more subtle ear candy to spice it up a little more? That vibrato saw drop thing too. I feel like you could probably benefit from giving it a bit more of a tail. Maybe try adding a little more reverb or release so it doesn't end so abruptly.

You've got a pretty good idea going on for this one, though man. I especially liked the second rise towards the drop in this. Try taking some of my notes into consideration and I think you might have something that really stands out in this portal!

Saao responds:

Thanks so much, I'm glad you like it. I wasn't really holding back, it's my first song and I just bought a sound system (not mastered yet). And yes it was only meant to be my into to NewGrounds, but thanks for the advice, I'm actually in the process of making a new song so stay tuned for more (I also have 2 other songs if you'd like to hear them just go to my profile)

Pretty good, dude! Those crunching and plates breaking FX really put on a gritty intro to the thing. I don't know what to think about that rising bass being all the way on the sides. I think it would probably be better if you just stuck it in the middle and did some EQ work with the kick. It kind of made the drop a little empty too. Sounds like you have a pretty good general idea of song structure, though. A lot of people struggle with stringing one section of a track to the next, and I thought you actually covered that area pretty well. Tally ho!

Ninjic responds:

I'll definitly work on that ! thx for the analysis man !

Sick! That rhythm guitar especially is chunky as hell. I love it. Whoever has this playing behind him will definitely have everyone's attention.

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Thank you very much. I'm super glad to be a part of it! Glad you dig it!\m/

Okay, so I sense you're a little new to this, and if you don't really take this stuff seriously, then feel free to ignore it!

First thing I noticed is that there is a little clicking some of the piano notes. It can be a little tricky in removing this, but what usually works best is EQing out some of the frequencies. It might also help to mess with the attack, decay, and release inside the vst.

Second, and this is an even more subjective criticism, but I would strongly recommend against using FL Studio vocal samples. They've been used for years to the point that they sound incredibly cheesy to anyone who is familiar with the program. Nothing wrong with cheesiness sometimes, but it just feels really tacky. I'm assuming you also used FL drum samples. There's lots of free samples out there that are a lot less overused, you know!

I liked that grindy wobble bass, but it was so disproportionally loud compared to the other instruments that I couldn't really enjoy it for long. If you notice that an instrument doesn't sound clear in a certain part of a tune, it usually means that something is too loud! Again, EQ can help fix this, but it's also a good idea to make sure that one instrument isn't so loud that you can't hear the other instruments playing!

Those are just a few pieces of advice from me to you. Keep working on it, and best of luck man!

Nice one, man! Thought you were actually going to do a Foo Fighters cover, but this is great! You have a nice voice. I do think that the backing vocals were a little rough, but that's the only fault I have with this tune. Keep on!

One of the chiller dance tracks I've heard today. I love the composition, but I think some of the instruments fall a little flat, even considering this isn't meant to be as in your face as other dance genres. Those horns especially are killing me.

Cool little jam! Really loving the tone of that guitar. When are you going to slap some vocals on it?

DFerociousbeast responds:

Haha thanks! And my brother wanted to do some vocals over it under a band he wants to start with me

Haha, definitely ska! Not sure what else to say to this. All the instruments are pretty clear and the sound is nice and wide. Guitar solo was a nice touch. What made you think of giving this a ska rendition?

marsonNG responds:

TY. I dunno really, I just always liked writing ska renditions of songs and thought the tetris A theme (Korobeiniki) was pretty catchy and would make a nice ska tune.

That's a really cool kick! Whole jam kind of has an industrial sound to it. The leads are a little muddy when played together with each other. You can probably do some more precise EQ cutting in the future to make all those instruments pop out a little more. I know that saw is struggling to find itself in the mix. Also, the watermark is pretty lame. What's up with that, man?

Very evil. :o You listen to 16bit?

Sequenced responds:

u listen to poop ?

Woah! Yeah!
